Team should consist of 4-6 members and  entries not complying to the number will be disqualified.

Problems would be given to you beforehand on the day of event only. Startup could give any real corporate world problem, product launch problem, marketing problem, product failure issues etc.or  any other problem that they face in their day to day functioning.

  • Solution is to be presented in the form of a power point presentation. Ample amount of time ( around 6 hrs ) will be given to you before the presentation.
  • The layout in which the presentations are to be made will be disclosed during the time the probblem statement is given.
  • Please follow the presentation layout else you will be awarded negative marks.
  • Presentation must not contain more than 10 slides. Team presentations are limited to 5 minutes which will be followed by up to 10 minutes of follow-up questioning from the judging panel. 
  • Questions during the formal team presentation will be asked by judges of that track only. The public is welcome to view presentations but may not interact in any way. 
  • Teams may or may not attend competitors’ presentations. Though teams can choose their presenting person or persons, each student member should be present at the competition and be prepared to support their solution.
  • The presentation should include entrant’s name and contact information. Rest of the layout of the presentation would be notified along with the problem itself.
  • Prelims would be conducted if necessary (depends on number of registrations).
  • Internship offers depends completely on your interaction with the startup and on your solution. Startup’s decision would be final.
  • Judging of entries will be performed by the startup itself and the Judges decision would be final and unquestionable.
  • Prize money is granted to the winning teams following NIFTEM procedures.  Teams and their resultant business entities are responsible for any tax consequences of the prize. 
  •  NIFTEM reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole and absolute discretion, any team from the competition at any time, either before or after the judging, for any reason. 
  • Reasons for disqualification may include, but are not limited to:  misappropriation or infringement of the intellectual property of others and any failure to comply with these rules and regulations. 
  • Please note that disqualified teams forfeit all prizes awarded to them.

Ideas submitted must represent the original work of the team members.

Business Plan Presentations will consist of a PowerPoint.

The presentation should be a maximum of 6 slides and include the entrant’s name and contact information. It should provide a brief, focused overview of the business you would like to develop. It should include:

  • An overall description of the company
  • An explanation of the products or services the company provides, why the products/services are needed, and how they differ from what already exists
  • A definition of what your market is, who your customers are, and who your competition is
  • A description of the market potential of the business
  • Identification of who your customers are
  • A concise description of the professional and educational backgrounds of the entrant(s)

 

Submitted materials are protected in the spirit of non-disclosure, where all entry materials will be treated as confidential.

The only persons with access to the entry materials will be judges and select members of the competition organizers.

Unless requested by the entrant team, submitted materials will not be distributed to another party.   

Please note that no additional provisions are made to protect entrants’ intellectual property.
 

Judging of entries will be performed by a panel of independent judges.  The judges will consist of professionals involved in entrepreneurship and small business.  

Judges may be entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship faculty members, venture capitalists, business leaders, angel investors, entrepreneurial professional service providers.

Please note that any entry is subject to minimum criteria in terms of market potential, viability, and other factors, as determined by the judging panel’s experience.

All decisions of the judges are final.

Prize money is granted to the winning teams following NIFTEM procedures. 

Teams and their resultant business entities are responsible for any tax consequences of the prize.

NIFTEM reserves the right to disqualify, in its sole and absolute discretion, any team from the competition at any time, either before or after the judging, for any reason.

Reasons for disqualification may include but are not limited to misappropriation or infringement of the intellectual property of others and any failure to comply with these rules and regulations.

EACH TEAM SHOULD CONSIST OF 2 MEMBERS

EACH TEAM MUST HAVE THEIR OWN NAMES. (In case of repetition of a team name, the team with early registration will be given preference.)

The next 4 tabs (#2 till #5) contain the rules for the individual quiz rounds

LEVELS DURING THE QUIZ

  • PRELIMS- Top 15 teams will move to the next round
  • STARTERS- 5 Least scoring teams will be ELIMINATED. Remaining 10 teams will move to the next round (Audio/Visual).

PROCEEDINGS OF THE STARTERS:

  • Each team will be asked two questions each. Every correct answer carries 5 points.
  • There will be No negative marking.
  • Each team will get only 30 seconds to answer the question. After time’s up, the question gets automatically passed to the audience.
  • Passing of the question is not allowed.

AUDIO/VIDEO ROUND-

  • Each team will be shown a set of audio or audio-visual clips. A relevant question will be asked from each clip.
  • Each team will get only 30 seconds to answer the question.
  • For every correct answer, the team will be awarded 10 points.
  • The team can ask for a hint. After which they will be awarded only 5 points for the correct answer.
  • There will be No negative marking.
  • Each team will be asked 3 such questions.
  • Passing of the question is not allowed.

LOGO ROUND

This round will have Identification of LOGOS and SLOGANS of various companies.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE LOGO ROUND:

  • Each team will be shown an image and question will be asked from the team.
  • For every correct answer, the team will be awarded 10 points.
  • The team can ask for a hint. After which they will be awarded only 5 points for the correct answer.
  • No negative marking.
  • Each team will be asked 2 such questions.
  • Only 30 seconds will be provided to answer.
  • Passing of the question is not allowed.
  • Top 5 teams move to the next round.


 

BIDDING ROUND-

PROCEEDINGS OF THE BIDDING ROUND:

  • A total of 6 questions will be asked in this round.
  • This round is an open round for all the 5 teams. The question will be displayed for all the teams to answer.
  • The bids allowed are 0, +5, +10, +15.
  • After the question is displayed, teams will be given 30 seconds to write the answers in a sheet, which will be checked by the volunteers. Teams are not supposed to say out loud their answers.
  • Correct answer fetches you the no. of points it bids. The same no. of points will be deducted from the team’s total on answering incorrectly.
  • It is compulsory to answer.
  • A surprise element awaits in the round!

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • Star/bonus question will be asked in Prelims.
  • Entries will be only of two-membered teams any other number of participants per team will not be entertained.

A team must comprise of 2-4 members and the teams not adhering to this rule will be straightway disqualified.

A team member cannot register in more than one team.

Purse value would be the same for all and will be disclosed on the event day

The players will be given a specific star value and differentiated accordingly.

The list of the players will be released on the day of the event.

For eg.

  • 5 stars: Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma etc
  • 4 stars: Joe Root, David Warner, Steve Smith
  • and so on…

Based upon the star value of the players, they would be allotted a base price.

The team members need to create a cricket team by selecting from the listed players using the minimum amount of money but should also have a good star value.

The amount of money left in your purse would impact your end result too. For every 15 crores left in your purse, one of the players from your team would receive a star upgrade.

Team Composition

Minimum number of players in a team should be 20.

The teams should have:

  1. Minimum 13 Indian players.
  2. Minimum number of 7 overseas players.

Judging Criteria

The teams which will clear elimination round of quiz will proceed to the auction round.

In auction round, the team which will have the highest total star value will be judged as the Winner of the event and subsequently, the second highest total star value will be proclaimed as Runners-up of the event.

Participants have to take part individually, no group participation.

Participants shall register themselves latest by 27 January 2019.

Prelims can also be conducted if the number of participants increases.

The topic will be announced 5 minutes prior to the commencement of the participant's turn.

Participants are allowed to refer to any material/mobile phones after receiving the topics.

Speaking time of participants will vary from 1-3 minutes depending on the judges.

Participants can use Hindi, English or Hin-glish.

No limit to the number of times participants may be asked to switch topic depending on the judges.

The result will be announced immediately after the competition.

The decision of the evaluation committee will be final regarding the results.

Evaluation will be base on the introduction, depth of subject knowledge, presentation and language and conclusion of the topic.

Participants shall be required to carry their institute's ID card for registration.

All participant must report to the venue at least 1 hour prior to the commencement of the event.
